Located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, Lantern Theater Company produces plays that investigate and illuminate what is essential in the human spirit and the spirit of the times. We seek to be a vibrant and contributing member of our community, exposing audiences to great theater, inviting participation in dialogue and discussion, engaging audience members on artistic and social issues, and employing theatrical language and techniques to enrich learning in the classroom.

Each season, we reach a loyal and growing audience through three core programs: mainstage productions that are smart, fun, engaging, and connected to our modern world; Illumination, our innovative education program that serves local students and teachers with in-school residencies, student matinee performances, teaching artist training, and theater classes for all skill levels; and our community and audience enrichment series, which provides fascinating discussions with theater artists and special guests that explore relevant and timely topics related to our work on stage.
